Seven
Seven was a movie that I enjoyed quite a lot because it is my type of film! I enjoy crime movies/tv shows so much and it is my favourite genre! Therefore, seven had all the aspects I was looking for in a film, it had the crime, the excitement, the mystery, and the intense ending that left me questioning so many things! My favourite parts in particular were the ending and the time when Morgan and Brad were piecing together the mystery of these murders. When they found out it’s related to the seven deadly sins, it was one of those moments where you rethink everything that’s happened so far. Also, this is the moment where you think about what is going to happen next. Whether the murderer is going to keep going, turn himself in, etc. Also, the ending was remarkably well done by Brad Pitt, Morgan Freeman, and Kevin spacey. The scene gave me actual chills when I was waiting to see what was in the box! I think this added an immense amount of intensity that could not have been better. I don’t believe things would have been different if we had actually seen what was in the box. (Even though we know it was Mills wife). Although, along with this was a scene that I though could have been improved, the aftermath. I feel this part could have been improved greatly because the ending left everyone stunned and they gave no conclusion to the movie and just simply ended it with him shooting the murderer. I understand why he shot Kevin Spacey, but what I don’t understand is why they didn’t give any other information at the end except for the fact that he was arrested. Even so, I was surprised by the ending and that’s what I think makes a great movie. Adding to this suspenseful movie was the action, special effects, and music that helped the movie come together. The chasing, fighting and makeup couldn’t have been better and the music that added that extra suspense. The makeup used on the victims looked very lifelike and made the movie all the more intense. Also, the chasing and fighting always kept me on my toes and thanks to the music, I knew how to feel and what to expect from every scene. This movie can be, in my opinion, a classic Hollywood movie because it is a classic cop movie with a crazy ending that was not so happy. This is different from other cop movies and that’s why it is very unique. Lastly, this has big actors in it that makes the movie all the while better and the expectation for it should be very high! I would recommend this movie to anyone with a lot of curiosity and who enjoys mystery movies/tv shows. Also, if they enjoy being on their toes and having the chills through an intense movie with a crazy ending that is not expected! Therefore, I believe this is an intense and impressive movie and recommend it!

Minority report was a confusing wild ride where dozens of twists and turns were around each corner. I’m a fan of these types of movies but in this one, it was simply too much to handle. It wasn’t one of my favorite movies, but I still enjoyed it despite the confusion I had at certain times.
One of the aspects of the movie that made me like it better was the special effects that were quite decent considering its time period that it was made and the amount of special effects that was needed throughout the film (which was all the time). Another aspect I liked was the fact that they made the entire movie about not necessarily the good guy, but the good guy that went bad. Instead of having the classic good guy saving the day and winning everybody, we get to see some real struggles that he went through and also that he’s not perfect. In a lot of movies, I find they try to make the guy/ girl as perfect as possible, and yet, in minority report we see a man charged for murder who had previously, lost his son and is divorced. Not to mention, is now using drugs! Although, with this big character comes a lot of drama too, these were one of the aspects I didn’t like. There was too much storyline and the constant feeling of being on your toes was becoming annoying. Too much information at once can be tiring, and I felt like I couldn’t look away for a second from the screen because I was going to miss some thing important! Even with these aspects, they used many ways to carry out these many twists and turns. The sound, cinematography and miss en scene was decently used. The sound at times made you feel like what tom cruise was feeling in that scene, whether it was a police chase and the music was fats because his heart was racing, or whether he was thinking about his so and slow music was playing. All of it was relevant and helped the audience understand why the character was feeling. The cinematography used made the scenes very compelling and set the scene while watching. The lighting was also fairly medium/dark as the movie is set in the future and has a sophisticated sense about it. This sense of sophisticated came from the setting, props, and editing sills used by the people who made this film and I was impressed. The backgrounds, special effects and camera movements were very easy to follow and appropriate. It set the scene well ( as it was in the future) and with that came the new technology used in the film. They created new technology that we hope to have in the future and even though we don’t have this technology today, they were still able to create it while also making it look so real! All in all, the editing and setting skills used in this movie was impressive and sophisticated. Lastly, a particular scene I would quickly like to mention is the police chase between Tom Cruise’s character and the police. It was a very difficult scene to make because of all of the fast paced cars moving especially on highway that looks nothing like ours, using cars that haven't even been invented yet! And yet, with all the background scenes and action shots, the scene really pulled together and I thought it was worth mentioning. The movie really was an entertaining movie, but maybe just a little ‘extra’ for me. ;) For this assignment, I decided to choose a movie that Netflix had requested for me based on what i like on Netflix. (Such as The Walking Dead, Riverdale, Hunger Games, Hush, Law and Order: SVU, and Pretty Little Liars.) Then, my top suggestion was the movie Final girl, I observed the movie poster and thought it seemed like a crime, thriller, action type movie and those are my favorite aspects to have in a movie/show! Also, the girl is holding an axe and it seems violent! Although, it is a women who holds the power and I believe that is always a good movie, when even though she is standing next to two strong men, she still holds the power. Next, it had a type of sophistication that came with it, just like scandal. So, even though there may be death, it will be swift and hopefully not so gory! Therefore, I thought maybe it could be a good fit for me.
Next, I looked at the trailer and it gave the indication that this was an action thriller with a young, small girl, up against 4 men who are skilled in their psychotic chasing and killing of women. To me, this made this movie seem interesting, it intrigued me because this seemed like such a challenge for the young girl in the film that would keep me on my toes throughout the movie. Also, this seemed to be the type of movie that could have a horrible ending or a hero ending, either way, I was excited to know what was to come! After watching this movie, I was very impressed by the film and enjoyed it very much. As expected, I was constantly on my toes and was scared at every corner. My expectations were met and I was very thankful that the trailer didn't give away too much! Sometimes, trailers will give away the entire storyline and could turn into a video of spoilers. Although, this was not the case for this movie, I was excited by the trailer but there was still a lot in the movie that I was shocked or surprised by. The movie was clearly an action and thriller movie because of the murder, chasing, and suspension that was in the film. Also, this was shown in the trailer, therefore, there was no surprises on the genre of the film. What they did not include in the trailer was the sarcasm that each character had that almost enlightened the mood of the film. Even though there was murder, the characters had a sense of irony that they had, almost like Negan from the walking dead (he is extremely sarcastic and funny even though he is a killer). I was not expecting that sense of sarcasm but since I like sarcasm, I was alright with it! :) Anticipation, suspension, and worry were all feelings I experienced while watching this movie, which are all feelings I enjoy to have while watching a movie. Personally, I would prefer a movie that (once again) keeps me on my toes and by my surprise, can make me laugh at the same time. My favourite show is the walking dead which says a lot about what kind of television I enjoy to watch, action. Therefore, I definitely enjoyed this movie because it gave me all of the experiences that I had wished to have. I would recommend this movie to anyone who enjoys a good action movie and something that will always keep you watching to the end! The Shawshank Redemption was a very interesting and mysterious movie in my opinion. In other words, an emotional roller coaster. Personally, I really enjoyed the movie and would recommend it to anyone. It was very entertaining mostly because of the notion of there being no limits. The movie was unpredictable in that anyone could die or leave, such as the old man and Tommy. Therefore, because of these limits, it made me realize that anything could happen at any time!
Because of this, my favorite parts in the movie were actually the parts where I knew something was going to happen, such as Brooks and the Warden. Those were the changes of the plots that kept me watching. Even so, there were a few parts that could have been better, such as the isolation in the underground cells. I think they didn't really show much of that and how that changed a man. I believe they could have elaborated on this to have developed the character of Andy more deep and unbreakable. Andy was a very complicated character that I believe was portrayed very well, he was always looking like he was soul searching, thinking, and keeping to himself (which he was). This ties into the plot and how all of this intelligence and thinking he was doing led to his escape, he was keeping busy while being very contained and to himself. Not only him, but also the acting job of Morgan Freeman was very well done, he always had a cheeky smile on his face and I was sincerely touched by his final scene when he was accepted instead of rejected, and this is because he was finally honest and I was touched by it, and he was rewarded because of it! One of his quotes was very real I believe, "get busy living or get busy dying". I think this is something that is relatable for anyone. Either start living your life or depressingly live it to ultimately you reach death. Thus, the phrase "YOLO". I think its an important message to everyone so they know that you only have one life, and you should live that life to the fullest. I think this movie can be a great message to anyone my age and I believe it was a mistake when this movie was flopped at the Box office. People were paying attention to another movie and didn't realize the potential this movie had. Although, things changed and it is now on everyone's must watch list because it is a classic! This is where Morgan Freeman became immensely famous and no on has forgotten him since. Therefore, this can be considered a shining moment in his acting career and also the beginning! I think now that everyone knows the name Morgan Freeman, it has gotten on their list for top movies to watch! Making it, in my opinion, a Hollywood classic. This is because it is where Morgan began his serious acting career (as said before) making it a Hollywood classic! Not only the actors and the plot was excellent, but also the overall setting of it and minimal editing. Such as the gun shots used to kill Tommy and the Warden, both were very life like and did not seem so edited. Although, these are the only real parts that needed an editing skill besides long shots, close ups and high shots. The music was also appropriately timed and when high intensity strikes, the music began. And of course when Brooks hung himself, it was sad music. :( Besides the gun shots, the editing skills were quite updated and there was no moment where I was unimpressed. All in all, I would recommend this movie to any friend who enjoys a drama, action, or mysterious movie, so anybody!! Because of the famous Morgan Freeman, this movie will go on forever and will always be known as the beginning of his career. He is a Hollywood legend, and therefore, this movie will also go down as a legend for years to come. Shaw shank Redemption has really impressed me with its constant storyline and of course, the crazy ending that Andy was planning a escape the entire time! Therefore, this movie should definitely be on anyones top movie list! Riverdale is a drama based on the Archie Comics about a teen (Jason Blossom) who was mysteriously killed and everyone is a suspect. Even though it is based on a comic book, it is nothing like it! There is a mystery, people develop relationships while others crumble, making it a very entertaining and dramatic show for anyone to watch! It does not just follow teens but also their parents, therefore, it can be for any ages. Also, the story line never stops, there has only been seven episodes and already, someone has died, a business has gone under, someone has gone to jail, and someone is pregnant! It has all the drama a good drama should have without being too cheesy like Secret Life of an American Teenager. This is because there is more to the story, everything that happens to everyone matters. For an example, the pregnancy isn't just this, it is the victims girlfriend who is pregnant! All in all, the show is more than just dramatic events effecting the characters, but also answering questions to the mystery about who killed Jason Blossom.
In any great TV show, there is a villain and in Riverdale, there are so many of them! That's what makes this show so entertaining, there are always a problem around the corner and conflicts between characters that will keep you on your toes! The main villain changes from time to time, just like Pretty Little Liars, the show makes you point the finger at someone different in every episode! Even so, the clear heroes in this show are the lead characters, Archie, Betty, Veronica, Jughead, and Cheryl. Although, any of those character could secretly be a villain, which is what makes the characters in this show so complex and compelling. These characters are a big reason to watch this show, they are all so different and you are bound to be able to relate to at least one of them. Also, unlike a lot of other shows, the characters go through a lot that may not be in other shows (one student's father has become an alcoholic and the student has been living on his own to stay away). I like how the show is trying to make the characters seem real and relatable, not only is the storyline the problem, but their own lives too. Overall, the characters are probably my favourite aspect of this show and the way they present the characters really impress me. Presentation is very important in my opinion while watching tv. In this show, they show exceptional skills in this with different angles, wide shots and overview shots of the small town itself. This creates an overall feeling of a cute, quiet town where nothing goes wrong! Wrong, the town has been faced with a tragedy that they are not used to. Also, these close shots will show the emotions of the characters and what they may be thinking vs what they are saying (it can be two completely different things). The different angles can also be important for some people while watching so they know what is going on at all times, i.e where they are, who is there, and possibly what's about to happen, all of this, is included in this show. There are clear shots that will show you where the characters could be and they are the usual locations. Therefore, I believe the show has a great presentation in order to become a successful show. Lastly, what you need for a successful show is the basics, sound to be on point and the setting to set the scene. The typical sounds you may hear while watching the show is the bell ringing at school, music playing for slow motion walking, and the voice over of Jughead narrating what is happening at the moment. He usually sums up what we have learned in one episode and connects that episode to the next one. These are the basics anyone needs for a successful drama. A suspenseful plot, interesting and unpredictable characters, a hero, villain(s), presentation, sound, and lastly, a pilot of the show that will keep you coming back for more. In my opinion, Riverdale has all of these aspects about the show and I strongly suggest this show to anyone who is looking for a murder mystery type show and likes a little drama! Indiana Jones and The Raiders of the Lost Arc is a great example of a classic action Hollywood movie and how they started out. Action movies were not as developed as they were today and I think this is revealed in the movie. Therefore, I enjoy watching a movie that shows how far we have made it, and improved on our editing skills, special effects, etc.
I liked this movie not just because of its time period, but because of its classic 'damsel in distress' and typical adventure the guy must go through in order to save the day, it almost gives me a reassurance that the movie will end well and I won't be upset about it! Well, this is a good and bad thing because knowing what to except relaxes me, but maybe too much, it makes the movie predictable which can turn into a boring movie. It may also be considered a little boring because of its special effects, such as the melting faces and the punches. Since they were not realistic, these were my least favourite parts of the movie, I almost began to laugh because of how different it was to our special effects now. Although, I try to remember that they did not have the advancement we have today in specials effects. Even so, my favourite parts of the movie were the action parts, the stunts were done quite well (with an exception to the punches) and ( was quite impressed with them, i.e. lots of explosions, chasing scenes, and even the scenery of the different locations they went to was very nice! I also have to give credit to the actors who did great on their stunts and acting, I believe Harrison did very well and I was content about his performance. I truly believed he was the perfect choice for a handsome, intelligent looking hero. Although, I was not impressed by the German man who was the 'bad guy'. I'm not sure if that was a fake accent but his character just came across as weird and creepy, and I didn't think of him as being powerful or evil like the villain should be. That is my only criticism of the acting skills. Even with its adequate special effects and acting, it was, in that time, considered a very well developed movie and has gone down in history as being one of the best action movie collections alongside star wars, James Bond, etc. Therefore, I believe it can last another 40 years because of its history. Not only was it a movie about a man going on an adventure and saving a girl, but it also had real life issues in it such as the Nazis. I believe this kind of history will never be forgotten and to me, I would want to watch it because of its history. In the 30s and 40s, the Nazis really were trying to collect as much artwork and treasure as they could, Germany was beginning to become a Hitler invaded country and eventually, the war began. Because of this, I believe this Hollywood classic should and will still be a classic in times to come. Because of the realness in this movie and its history, it has created this timeless feel about it that can make it relatable for any little boy watching. In star wars or James bond, it has an unlikely storyline about it but Indiana Jones does not have this so much, Any little boy can dream about traveling the world and adventuring in jungles, but cannot dream about traveling through space, battling with lasers or working on and underground secret agency, it has a more real life feeling to it. You could in that time, go exploring in the forest and you can still do that now! Making adventures in the jungle (or forest) a timeless dream. also, in these days, it can be easy to dress as Indiana in his khakis and buttoned up shirt and the music has a old time action feel to it, its as if you can imagine yourself riding on a vine while its playing! This look that Jones has even been taken by other stars in order to create a jungle type outfit for one to wear! A lot of people who travel will know that its better to dress comfortable and even avoid dark colours while its a hot climate, just as he has. This is the typical look that comes to mind when you think of a tour guide or a tourist (someone adventuring), created by Indiana Jones. Even with its crazy special effects and classic damsel in distress story, the timeless feel to the movie and the history behind it create an overall great movie to enjoy with the fam. Therefore, I would recommend this movie to any friend or member of the fam. American Airlines: American Airlines is a major American airlines that flies many people everyday in America. They are known for their slogan of patriotism and their american colours right in the logo! Although, the logo does not just reveal what the brand is, there are indirect messages as well as direct. The direct message is that it is an American company with wings. The indirect message is that it is a proudly American company including the American colors and an eagle flying. This is what they use in the logo and the advertisement. An eagle flying over the US to represent the American eagle. Therefore, they have showed that the product is for powerful and rich people, the American people. Americans are very patriotic and this could attract them. It is a powerful country and they are trying to show that this is their airlines. Therefore, they create a feeling of patriotism and this is what attracts people to fly their airlines. Therefore, the people that fly this airlines are flying in America and it could be their choice of transportation because it is the flying company of America. This means that the American airlines is a very patriotic plane company and it could be described as the 'most American flight you could be taking' and therefore, the best in the world because "The World's Greatest Flyers Fly American" (Slogan of American Airlines). This emphasizes their patriotism because they are saying that if it is the best in America, it is the best in the world because America is the best. So, the mood or feeling you could take from this is a very strong patriotic feeling.
They are not really contributing to unrealistic expectations because it is a simple message that if you are American, this should be the airlines you fly. No matter your success, relationship, etc, this flight is going to be the same for everybody, therefore, I do not think it is unrealistic. Based on the looks of this advertising, it is clear to see that the advertising is saying the company is patriotic and an American company. They fly very smoothly and gracefully (like an eagle) just as the ad shows. Therefore, the type of company is very clearly an airline company. The commercial for American Airlines really creates not only the feeling of patriotism, but relaxation and a nice calm flight. They have the logo fly over landmarks with relaxing music, emphasizing that the flight will be a relaxing one and it will be beautiful. Therefore, the two feelings of this brand come from the logo and the advertisement. Personally, I think this company has a great advertising campaign. They play into the patriotism of the Americans while giving a sophisticated and relaxing commercial. The logo represents the Airlines very well, incorporating the American colours and Eagle are very compelling and personally, I think it is a great tactic of American Airlines. Breakfast at Tiffany's was a great movie and I very much enjoyed it. I thought it was not just a regular romantic comedy, it had more to it and a nice message that Hepburn delivered very well. I think it was a great story line that in that time, would be considered risky. Some of the best parts were the ending in the cab and when looking for cat. I liked this part because it showed that she just didn't know who she was and was trying to figure it out. Being with Paul scared her and after Fred had died, she felt more lost than ever. She didn't feel the need to be with a rich man in order to take care of her brother. Although, she had been trying to do that for so long, she didn't know how to break from it. A part that could have been better was when Holly's ex-husband showed up. I found it was quite boring and they left on very simple and good terms. Although, if i'm being honest, I would have liked there to have been more drama. Lastly, one of the parts i ddi not like was the portrayal of Mr. Yunioshi by an American.
The acting done by Hepburn and Peppard was very well done and I think they portrayed their characters very well. Hepburn had to do a few outbursts and I think she pulled it off very well. peppard had fewer outbursts and therefore, I believe there wasn't that much to criticize him on. He seemed like a very lovesick guy and that is what he pulled off well. Overall, the acting skills were very well done. Although, again, I did not like the acting of Mr. Yunioshi, I thought it was quite racist and I personally did not think it was funny. The special effects in this film revealed the time and difference of special effects from their time and ours. For an example, this was really shown in the cab scene. The cab driver's wheel was turning for him and the scenery in the background was very obvious as not being real. Although, I can understand that at that time, it was probably an advancement and fairly impressive. Another special effect that I didn't quickly notice was the makeup on the American actor Mickey Rooney. Rooney played the character of a Japanese man named Mr. Yunioshi and I did not notice the makeup he was wearing. It was quite stereotypical and offensive and was a special effect in this movie that I was not impressed by. The music they played was quite dramatic and jazz like, it was very suitable for this time and they played quicker songs in times of suspicion, slower, more dramatic songs in scenes with love, and happy songs in scenes of adventure (characters moving). Everything was quite accurate and the music set the mood. Even so, at times, this movie had scenes in which I was confused by. I found some scenes were quite unnecessary. Such as the long time it takes for Doc to explain why he is in New York and for Holly to say goodbye to him. I think there could've been another way for get out the information that Holly was raised as an orphan instead of bringing in another character to only leave 20 minutes later. That is the only part I found was too extended. I think Audrey Hepburn is so well known for breakfast at Tiffany's because it was her most popular movie she ever starred in. Also, it was a 'risky' film and it wasn't just about two regular people falling in love. Instead, it was about two people who were 'escorts' who fell in love. They didn't have perfect lives nor money, it was about finding yourself and making choices based on your interest and your choice and not with the power of money. I believe Breakfast at Tiffany's is what Hepburn is known for because of how revolutionary the film was and how different it was. Hepburn created a style and look from this movie and I think it has been proven by the numerous amount of people who have copied the look. I think they chose to do this because of how iconic it is and classic. It is a dress by the one and only and the character she played. She is a woman who becomes independent and does not rely on money, she has found herself and does it all in class. I think a lot of people want to recreate this look of class and sass and that is why I think people copy it. This movie, in my opinion, is a classic. Therefore, in my terms, it is a 'Classic Hollywood' movie. It is a romantic comedy in new York City and everyone is very classy and dresses very well in it. There was no open mouth kissing, and everyone was very modest. Therefore, I consider this movie to be a classy movie. The film has the romantic, high-fashion, youth and sophistication of the "Camelot" era that was created during the 60s. Therefore, in my opinion, it is a Hollywood Classic. This movie is very classy and I believe it could past years. It will always be a classic and will throw us back to a time that was much different than ours. I think it is timeless film and should never be forgotten. It is a film showing the atmosphere of the 60s. Also, the legacy of Audrey Hepburn should never be forgotten. Audrey Hepburn has been my role model since I was in middle school and I don't think her legacy should ever be forgotten. Not just from this film but also from her life and her work with the UNICEF. The 1920's were a time full of partying and celebrating the war being over, although, it all came crashing down on October 29th, 1929. The wealth almost doubled and the stock markets rose. Not to mention, prohibition of alcohol began in 1919. Times were beginning to change and many people began living in the cities rather than farms. This is when the celebrating began and thus theme was created, the Roaring twenties.
There was a new image women had, they began styling their hair "boyish-like" and got their right to vote. (In Canada, 1917 and the US, 1920). The term 'the new woman' was often used to describe a young woman with bobbed hair and short skirts who drank, smoked and said what might be termed “unladylike” things, in addition to being more sexually “free” than previous generations. Some of the trends were drop-waist dresses, flapper dresses, pearls, and the 'cloche' hat. Some of the popular slang that i found were 'applesauce', ''bee's knees', and 'rhatz'. Applesauce is a term used for lack of appreciation. Such as "Ah, applesauce!'. Rhatz can be used in the same way, "Ah. Rhatz!". Lastly, the bees knees is a classic. It means amazing, or an extraordinary person r idea. "Well isn't that the bees knees!" is a way to use it. Many of the words used in this time was because of the younger generation becoming a little more dominant. In years to come, the term 'teen' would be invented. This is where the younger generation began to build a profile and the minds of a teenager came into play. Some of the popular books of the 1920s were the classics by F.Scott Fitzgerald such as The Great Gatsby, This side of paradise, and the Beautiful and Damned. Other examples are The Paris Wife, The Diviners, and The Sun Also Rises. The Great Gatsby for example, was a perfect example of a book written in its time, it talked of the roaring twenties and the separation between the higher and lower class. The style, partying, and trends of the time whilst using the slang throughout the book. (The book is narrated by a man living in the 1920s). Some of the popular activities in the 1920s include dancing and sports. Some dances that were use in the roaring twenties were included the Fox Trot, the Waltz, and the Tango. Baseball was also a popular sport and the player Babe Ruth was a popular baseball player. Some other activities of a typical 1920s person are reading, listening to the radio, and watching some movies! Mickey Mouse became very popular along with Charlie Chaplin and Rudolph Valentino. Warner Brothers, 20th Century Fox, Paramount Pictures, and MGM began in this era. Some other films and movies were The Phantom of the Opera, The Hunchback of Notre Dame, Steamboat Willie, and The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari. Some movies were in black and white and some were in colour. It was in the 1920s that movies with sound began playing. The popular type of music in the 1920s was jazz and the blues. Popular numbers in the 1920s were pop hits such as "Sweet Georgie Brown", "Dinah" and "Bye Bye Blackbird". Many jazz bands played and this was their form of partying, playing jazz music and dancing the Charleston or the Black Bottom. The phonograph record became the best method of playing music, surpassing sales of sheet music and piano rolls. The blues, which had influenced jazz from the beginning, became increasingly popular due to singers like Ma Rainey, Mamie Smith and Bessie Smith, the latter selling thousands of discs, including a national hit, “Down Hearted Blues.” Some of the celebrities of the 1920s include Coco Chanel, the famous brand name and fashion designer. Also, the famous writer, F. Scott Fitzgerald's wife, Zelda Sayre. She was a 'flapper' , which is a 1920's term for a party girl, she wore her hair in a bob, drank, partied, and wore short skirts. F. Scott Fitzgerald was a very popular writer in his time and was another celebrity known for his many novels. A role model, Albert Einstein was a scientist in the 1920s and became very popular for his discoveries in science. A famous actor in the 1920s was Charlie Chaplin, he was in numerous silent movies and was named in his time, "the most famous person who ever lived". The 1920s was also a time full of inventions that improved the wellbeing and everyday lives of people in the 1920s. A popular invention found in almost every home was the Radio. Radios sold at 400 to 850 dollars. Radio had become a national pastime and many listeners gathered in their living rooms to listen to sports news, concerts, sermons and "Red Menace" news. Another invention in this time was the Henry Ford's model T car. This advanced the transportation industry and ade it easier for people to travel. It started off as being a way for only the rich to travel, it was very expensive to purchase a car. Although, as time passed, transportation improved even more and more people would be able to buy cars. Lastly, another advancement in technology was silent movies and being able to produce sounds with movies. The 1920s was a time of technology advancements, the introductory to the youth generation, and new styles and rights for women. It was called the 'roaring twenties' for a reason, a time of drinking and celebrating that the war was over. Soldiers had come back and wanted a better life, a life that they deserved and earned. Many icons emerged in the 1920s such as Coco Chanel, Charlie Chaplin, and F. Scott Fitzgerald. Women began to have more rights, such as voting and more independence, they began dressing as they like, (shorter dresses), and having shorter hair. Overall, the 1920s was an advancing time with many memories for us to discover. Today, marks the day my life got better, I had dropped physics. Physics was not an interesting class to me and I am glad I am now in a more exciting and entertaining class, media studies, with the one and only Mrs. Standring. I do not need physics for nursing and therefore, it did not seem reasonable to stay. Now, I have created a blog and this is my first post! Like whoa.
